Steel Oats Breakfast Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ½ cups white whole-wheat flour
- 1 ½ cups organic steel oats
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 cup of carob chips
PROCESS:
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Mix all dry ingredients together in mixer. Once combined add 1 large egg, apple sauce, vanilla extract and coconut oil. Mix until almost combined – add carob chips, combine with mixer on medium.
- Drop rounded tablespoon onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Let cookies sit 5 minutes before moving to a drying rack to completely set.
