Lighter Orange Chicken and Broccoli!! Mmmm

Because healthy should taste and look good too!! LIGHTER ORANGE CHICKEN & BROCCOLI...Easy to make and super fast...all the ingredients of a great weeknight meal!!

Lighter Orange Chicken
 
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 pound organic chicken breast cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup white whole-wheat flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • olive oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 4 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 scallions chopped

PROCESS:
  1. Drizzle chicken with olive oil.
  2. In a shallow baking dish mix flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Coat chicken in flour mixture.
  4. Coat a large sauté pan with olive oil.
  5. Pan sear chicken until golden brown. Remove chicken.
  6. Add brown sugar, orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and cracked pepper.
  7. Bring sauce to a boil and add chicken back to to the pan.
  8. Lower heat and let chicken simmer while sauce thickens.
  9. Sprinkle with scallions.
  10. Serve with brown rice and broccoli.
