WINE FOOD -- Bacon Wrapped Dates!

Sometimes you have to just go for it and by go for it I mean eat bacon! Bacon wrapped dates are delicious and the perfect wine food. Whenever I make these I always use applewood smoked bacon for an extra layer of flavor.

Bacon Wrapped Dates

INGREDIENTS:
  • 16-ounce package of applewood smoked bacon
  • 8-ounce package of pitted dates
  • Fresh cracked pepper
  • Garlic powder
(My favorite bacon to use is Applegate Farms)

PROCESS:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Position oven rack in the center of the oven. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Wrap a piece of bacon around a date. Make sure the bacon seam is placed facing downward on the cookie sheet. Repeat until all of the dates are wrapped in bacon.
  3. Sprinkle with pepper and garlic powder.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until crisp. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
